| My Philosophy of Education |
👉While some believe that education is the only key to get a better paid job and to have an easy life, I believe that education is the most empowering force in the world; it develops knowledge and builds confidence. Education is the closest thing to magic in the world. Nothing can transform a person's life like education. It inspires confidence and gives people a voice.
In addition to its obvious benefits for a fuller and better life, education can contribute to the betterment of society as a whole; a society in which people are aware of their rights and duties. Education aims to influence the integral development of the person. And for this, it is necessary to overcome more instrumental or economist conceptions of education. The four aims of learning are learning to learn, learning to do, learning to be and learning to live together.
It is clear that the times and the ways in which people learn have changed. The methods in which students were passive subjects have been left behind and now we seek to actively involve them in their own training. In this sense, it is necessary for teachers to know different work methodologies such as project-based learning, problem-based learning and learning based on thinking, since this way they can diversify the way they teach and choose the one that best suits the content, characteristics and needs of the students.
As for the curriculum of education, it is a study plan that must contain the following aspects; first is the intention and identification of the contents, themes and problems of each area, indicating the corresponding pedagogical activities. Second, the distribution of time and the sequences of the educational process, indicating in what grade and school period the different activities will be carried out. Last but not least, the achievements, skills and knowledge that students must achieve and acquire at the end of each period of the school year.
Furthermore, the role of the teacher is not only to provide information and control discipline, but also to be a mediator between the student and the environment. A teacher needs to stop being only the protagonist of learning and also to become a guide or companion of the student. While the role of the student is to be able to self-direct, self-evaluate and self-monitor, have self-learning skills that allow them to learn for life, know how to solve problems, be empathetic, flexible, creative and responsible.
My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and should have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can reach their full potential.💓
